Welcome to the Wyton Road
Renewable Energy Project

An exciting solar farm development to the east of Hull that will provide
sustainable, clean power to around 16,000 homes

Shaping a sustainable
energy future for all

The Wyton Road Renewable Energy Project is an exciting solar farm development that will provide clean, sustainable electricity to around 16,000 homes.

Proposed for land between Bilton and Preston to the east of Hull, the 49.99 Megawatt scheme will also play a role in helping the UK reach Net Zero as well as strengthen the country’s energy security.

By converting the sun’s energy into clean, sustainable power, the Wyton Road Renewable Energy Project will produce carbon savings every year equivalent to planting over 1,000,000 trees or taking more than 7,000 cars off the road.

The scheme will combine advanced battery technology with solar energy to provide electricity when it is needed most. It will also help cement the Humber region’s reputation as a global leader in renewable technologies and play a role in mitigating the worst effects of climate change.

a million trees

Every year, the Wyton Road Renewable Project will produce the same carbon savings as planting 1,000,000 trees

7,000 cars

The Wyton Road Renewable Project will produce carbon savings the same as taking 7,000 cars off the road every year.

Community Fund

As part of the project, we will be creating a community fund that will directly benefit the villages of Preston and Bilton.

clean sustainable energy for the benefit of all

Our project will help the region and the country achieve a more sustainable future

The Wyton Road Renewable Energy Project will play a role in helping the UK to meet its Net Zero target and will further strengthen the Humber region’s position at the forefront of the renewables revolution.

THE OPTIMAL Way of creating clean sustainable energy

Harnessing the sun’s energy is one of the most effective and efficient ways to produce sustainable electricity

With the climate emergency accelerating, it is vital that we do everything we can to limit carbon emissions to mitigate the impact of global rises in temperature. This means moving away from energy produced by burning fossils and transitioning to clean energy production that vastly reduces or eliminates carbon emissions.
